UC Davis School of Law: Young Alumni Association

UC Davis YAA

Purpose

UC Davis School of Law:  Young Alumni Association

UC Davis Law YAA was founded in 2013 by a volunteer committee of alumni in Southern California.  It has recently expanded to Northern California and now operates across three major geographic regions: Los Angeles/Orange County areas, San Francisco Bay area, and Sacramento.  Its core purpose is to create a robust community for the law school’s young alumni – primarily by hosting social events in each region that provide an opportunity for alumni to meet and re-connect.

In addition to the social component, the Young Alumni Association also aims to:

1.  Foster mentorship between experienced and recent alumni;

2.  Support the law school's recruitment, outreach, and job placement efforts by introducing prospective and current students to the alumni network; and

3.  Enhance the visibility of the law school in each
chapter's geographic region.

Events

Young Alumni events are designed to be social and create opportunities for young alumni to get together. They typically occur on a quarterly basis, and range from happy hours to weekend barbeques, wine tastings, tailgates, picnics, and hikes. Events are self-funded by participants and organized by a volunteer committee of alumni. Friends and family of King Hall are always welcome and encouraged to attend!
